The Health and Wellbeing Service are delighted to work in partnership with the British Nutrition Foundation (BNF) to bring you this exciting and innovative event, following on from the success of the National Food and Nutrition Education Conference that took place in February 2019.
This event, which will take place on Saturday 7 December at Leeds Civic Hall, will be an opportunity for those teaching food and cooking in both primary and secondary settings to come together and gain skills and knowledge to further enhance their expertise, to deliver an effective food education curriculum.
This conference will also make links with the new Ofsted Inspection Framework and the compulsory Health Education curriculum, which includes healthy eating and preparing healthy meals.
There will be presentations from experts in the fields of nutrition, education, food science, classroom management and cooking. There will also be allocated sessions dedicated to teaching pupils in the primary and secondary phases.
The conference is aimed at trainee, new, non-specialist and experienced teachers and will provide insight into the national food and nutrition issues that impact the lives and education of children and young people
