In October, pupils from Southroyd school took part in an exciting book trail around school. As darkness fell, children and parents used torches to follow a trail of books and characters around the school grounds. As well as this huge celebration of some of our favourite books, the children also enjoyed the opportunity to share books with family and friends - and of course outdoor refreshments, including pizza cooked in our own pizza oven!
David Manton, Deputy Headteacher said "Southroyd would like to say a huge thank you to the parents and families who helped set up and run a fantastic Book Day Trail." on Saturday 12th October, using artwork designed and created by the children and their parents."
It's brilliant to see so many schools participating in activities that link to the Year of Reading, please let us know what you are doing in your school and follow us on Twitter @LeedsYoR
