Early Years and Primary 'Children's learning through movement'

Movement is a fundamental way that children learn.

Outline

Understanding and facilitating the maturation process of young children’s movement and sensory feedback is essential within the Early Years. This process fully supports learning and development and will specifically link to early writing.

Description

When working with movement we are looking at a developmental process 0-8 years.Throughout the training opportunity will be given to explore resources and engage in practical ideas that support the receiving of key information and discussion around the benefits of specific early movement and the links to early writing.

Outcomes

Practitioners will:
Gain an understanding of the brain and sensory integration in relation to children's early movement
Develop a clear understanding of the benefits and importance of early movement and physical development
Engage in a range of practical movement ideas
Have opportunities to reflect from a developmental movement perspective on ways to promote and develop early writing
