This full day course is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of roles and responsibilities for teachers new to Year 4 (including NQTs). The day will explore effective classroom practice in core subjects as well as formative and summative assessment.
This course is designed to support and develop the classroom practice of teachers new to the year group. During the full day session, colleagues will have the opportunity to explore their practice in core subjects with input from a range of specialist consultants. In the mathematics section the statutory assessment and reporting of the multiplication tables check (MTC) will be considered.
This session will:
- support teachers new to Year 4 with meaningful ongoing assessment
- cover effective classroom practice in reading, writing and mathematics
- share useful resources and guidance to support assessing and reporting at the end of lower key stage 2
- respond to questions and concerns
