Early Years - Developing children's emotional well being and resilience to support effective learning

Developing emotional well-being and resilience in the early years

Outline

This newly developed course explores the links between high well-being, resilience and successful life long learning.

Description

Young children's sense of self worth and well-being are the cornerstone of effective emotional and social development.
Developing the skills to understand and regulate their own behaviour or learning in the Early years foundation stage, has been shown to have a lasting impact on later learning and school.
Practitioners will have the opportunity to reflect on key messages around quality practice and provision and identify strategies to further support children's emotional development in their own setting.

Outcomes

Practitioners will:
  • Consider the impact of emotional stress on brain development and function
  • Explore the links between PSED, well being and resilience
  • Identify effective strategies for supporting healthy emotional growth.
