Early Years: Introduction to the EYFS for Practitioners new to the Early Years

Have you just started working in an Early Years setting or maybe you are nursery manager with new staff starting in your setting?

Outline

This two part course introduces participants to the ‘Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)’ and ‘Development Matters’ guidance materials which underpin learning and development from birth to five.

The course will provide an overview of quality in the EYFS by exploring the characteristics of effective learning and the principles which support young children’s learning and development.

Description

Guidance on the importance of becoming an effective key worker for young children, developing an enabling emotional and physical environment and effective observation, assessment and planning systems are included.

Practitioners will be given a gap task to complete in between the two sessions to support their development.
